Ammonium
ECD Ammonium Process Measurement Guide
Ammonium as Nitrogen (NH4+-N) and turbidity are commonly measured at municipal wastewater treatment operations in aeration basins and clarifiers. ECD’s highly intelligent HYDRA Ammonium Analyzer can be used to monitor the ammonium nutrient load directly in the aeration basin of a waste water treatment plant as well as environmental waters, lakes, streams and wells.
For the Ammonium Process Measurement, the HYDRA Analyzer measures the concentration of dissolved ammonium as nitrogen (NH4+ -N) in all kinds of water using three electrodes, an Ammonium Ion Electrode, a Potassium Ion Electrode and a pH Electrode.
ECD’s HYDRA C22 Analyzer is designed to automatically compensate for the pH dependant concentration equilibrium and the potassium ion interference on the ammonium electrode. Temperature measurements are used to compensate each of the three electrode measurements. The HYDRA C22 Analyzer measures ammonium and potassium in concentrations from 0.1to 1000 ppm, pH from 0 to 14 and temperature from 0 to 50°C (32 to 212°F).
ECD also manufactures a complete product line of ammonium electrodes, ammonium sensors, ammonium meters, ammonium controllers, ammonium analyzers and ammonium transmitters.
